2. Food Insecurity & Health

Objective: Provide a shared foundation for understanding why addressing food and nutrition security is a key strategy for reducing CVD prevalence and improving CVD outcomes. Understand the opportunities available through federal grant programs and CalAIM MediCal roll-out starting January 2022. Hear an overview of current efforts to leverage these opportunities.

3. RCHC Food Champions – Efforts at Community Health Centers

Objective: Get updated on RCHC’s Food Champion’s roundtables and efforts at community health centers to address food and nutrition insecurity.

Objective: Hear from other HSC partners about their efforts to identify and address food and nutrition insecurity among their patients. Gather input from members on whether and how to define specific POI strategies related to improving food and nutrition insecurity. Should this be a work group?

• What should HSC be doing to support addressing food and nutrition insecurity as a risk factor for CVD?
